I doubt very much the boot floor has been pushed up as at 15mph wont do much damaged the bumper reinforcement bar will take all the impact, Cat 'C' is uneconomical to repair therefore you repair the car yourself then just take it to get inspected new mot job done £200-£300 later car back on the road.

Wot they both said :y P.s My offer still stands.

Don't let the process put you off. It really is straight forward. Cracking the bumper is probably enough to make an older mig a cat c.

Sorry to hear that.
My son's Polo was damaged in a rear end shunt. We sorted the boot floor damage with a screw jack and chunks of wood.
Worked fine afterwards, hatch lid shut perfectly. Passed MOT no problem. Needed a new panel behind the bumper but the bumper itself was ok!  :)

How much did the offer you buy it back off them for?

And do they still pay you what they offered before if you buy your car back off them? Aways wondered about this

I was offered a by back off the insurance company. They told me it would be a 'Cat C' so I'm guessing it's done damage to the boot floor which would explain why the boot wouldn't shut and puts me out of my comfort zone as far as accident repairs go.

Weighing up what it was worth, the price of fuel, the jobs that I knew I'd got to do on it (inc cost of parts) and the fact signs of rust were starting to appear I've decided to cut my losses and take the second offer they made me (Turned the first one down as everyone should).

Also had a chat with the insurance about personal injury. To be honest I felt like they were trying to sell me the idea of putting a claim in so I gave in and have put the wheels in motion.

You wont regret  this , when the cheque lands on your door mate.... I know I didnt

get a good look at car
even if they say its a cat c may not have floor damage

listen to what the guys have said m8

my boot wouldent shut the back tail plate is week and knocks back

it only take it moving a few mils to to that
when some one done it to mine the damage was quoted at 1700 to fix

about the same speed

want a right off i pulled bumper off and all it had done was bent the bumper mounts and pushed tailegate panel in a touch

took me 15 mins with a hamer and a lump of word and its a strait as it was before

and i aint on panel beater and mines strait and look a good as before

if the floor pan aint pushed it it will be a easy fix
the reason the boot don't shut right is the lock ins on tail gate panel

id be surprised if it pushed the floor pan in at 15 on an omega

and re whiplash dont take first offer there offered me a grand the next day

but i was fooked for a year in pain whiplash ripped hamstring and it cause a years worth of sciatica and server chronic lower back pain due a slipped disk i had already

im still not fully over the pain so go take a look at car before you let em keep it

and they payed me 1700 quid - the vat
and in the about 6grand for injury

me back is still killing me but the new harley davison in the garage cheered me up from pain :D

so let em do the bissnes with the injury claim
