Virgin Media.............
« on: 25 July 2011, 18:37:39 »

...Just spent past half hour idiotting around with them, cancelled contract in March, had bills for plus 100 pound, but I cancelled the DD, call them in June settled account without paying contract charges for internet for full contract term :y...

Then since 22/06/11 have had 3 letters advising owe the 45 + quid called them after first letter, told them they had to sort it out, as far as I was concerned it was sorted and settled..........

Anyaway got another letter today, called them, got transferred, abroad I think, I totally lost it with the guy on the other end, he could'nt tranfer me to a supervisor or manager to sort the issue out, I asked if he was based in this country, ''what does that matter'', ''you have to pay the bill or we'll send people around to collect''..... >:(     Told him to stick it up his arse where the sun don't shine, then apologised as he made me lose my temper over the phone, anycase still could'nt help and he disconnected after telling me I had to  pay.

I called back and spoke to someone in the UK and all sorted in under 5 minutes :y...So well done Adam at Virgin Media collections, and Nidir from wherever in the World can stick his CC skills where the sun don't shine :y

I used to work for them, worst decision ever made was moving stuff offshore, especially the second level faults part where they were found to be closing fault reports as they didn't know or even attempt to fix them

Virgin,nt(hel)l, most banks or credit companies, sky out of hours, any mobile provider out of hours etc etc... all normal, nothing to see here, move along please, move along.  >:(

At our place, spotty youth accountants got involved. "This product is cheaper".
Production manager "yes but we will have to use twice as much"
Accountant "good, thats twice the saving then"

.... "But it's crap, that's why it's cheap" matters not, we have saved money. Don't care that the product will not pass the production process without taking twice as long to achieve the same result, therefor halving productivity. Oh no, we don't care about that.

Where are all these idiots coming from? Bloody well trained where ever it is.

WE are the idiots, not them. People are too lazy to move providers these, whether it be banks, credit cards, telecomms etc. They would soon up their game if they started losing customers.

That's what you get living in a "lowest price possible" economy.

Been with them twice now and have on both times gone back to BT because of the same problems as you have had.
Mind you Sky was no better when I tried them cos they use BT too.
Someone once told me that you can put anything in a suit but it is still the same as it was, it does'nt give them anymore skills! How true.
Nope, I now stick to BT for the phone and broadband and Sky fot the TV family package with HD.
Seems to me that when a company gets too big for its boots the first thing to go is efficiency, then invoice accuracy and then Customer Service hits the wall and disappears down the crapper. Customer services that are spread in departments located in different parts of the country, and sometimes even abroad, all lead to confusion, lack of internal communication and then of course there is the difficulties we all have faced with some of the really bad language accent problems. Some so bad that I literally could not understand what they were saying!
Then they try their hardest to retain you when you say you want to leave them so out come the offers, the refunds, the enhancement of your service for free, but even when accepted the situation still goes on as it was.
Been there and done that so many times I will now just stay with the set up I have because it is uncomplicated and the service is now what it should be. My bills are accurate, my services are reliable. Thats all I wanted in the first place.

Well I went from Virgin Media to Sky and back again in the space of a few days.  Sky were by far worse for customer service.  They failed to make appointments, the engineer who had booked time off work was the person who ended up phoning me to apologise for his manager booking the appointment on his day off, the engineer who eventually arrived drilled through the wall without thinking to move my PS3 from the other side resulting in brick dust engulfing my PS3 (which has since broken due to cooling issues, they then refused to make right the great chunk of wall they knocked out, they failed to connect the phone or broadband and the TV package was crap.  After all this I had to ring a premium rate customer service line where after they propose to make a return call it couldn't be before 9am because they're not allowed to make outgoing calls before then.

THe only reason I moved was due to price - Sky was offering a significantly cheaper deal on their HD package compared to what I was on at the time.  I rang Virgin back - they bumped up everything I was on and halfed the price.  I had one problem during installation which was solved instantly and at 8.30 at night.  Whenever I've had a problem with the line they've had an engineer within 48 hours and then reduced the bill for the service affected.

They do continually fill my mailbox with crap though...
