Confirmation needed on plenums
« on: 23 June 2007, 22:08:29 »

Am I right in thinking that a 3.0 has the extended plenum. Below are 2 pics one is 2.5 the other a 3.0. Can anybody confirm the extended plenum or if I have misunderstood something?

Extended plenum on mini facelift 3.0l (mid 97 on), not on 2.5 as 2.5 is better with smaller one.  2.6/3.2 have extended plenums, although the 2.6 would be better off with shorter one but no room for throttle servos on shorter one.

Those are both the same (short/original version) (I think..?)  The extended plenum is significantly different and I think the black plastic bit comes in separate sections.  I'm sure someone can post a pic.

Looking at those pics has reminded me does anyone know the part no. for the gasket for the egr onto the side of the plenum chamber on an early x25xe as VX keep sending a totally different one insisting their right and i'm wrong even though i've got the car in front of me.

It's a bit difficult on time to go to a dealer but at this rate i'm going to have to take an extended lunch break plus petrol just to sort a £2-£3 gasket

Sorry for the change of thread guys
