I'd never heard of these guys before so had a look at the website, interestingly they do a headlight restoration kit as well, could be worth a try.

I have the meguires clay bar kit.  , learned the two bucket method, and use autoglym polish. Some of the swirls are gone but there's still some heavy circles left in, ESP the bonet. I presume a more aggressive polish is needed?  :-/

Well done Chris - sounds like you've cut through the old polish and you're on your way - gentle perseverence is better than going too aggressive with the polish. Clay won't necesarily remove all swirls unless it's taking off a thin film of polish that's the culprit - it's primarily intended to remove minute dirt particals stuck to the paint - not remove scratches.

Need to get the sun on it to show on camera,which may well over power any camera I have, but I'll give it a go... looks like rotary marks tbh...

I've given it 3 polish applications but they still remain.  :-/. Better, it's just the worst ones left.

I generally  wet the pads and clean the remains from before..even they cause traces :-/

Chris, I had the same with my paintwork, it was covered in swirls and light crazing made worse in bright sunlight.

I would suggest doing the same as I have done, give the car a really good wash then use the clay kit, then use this,

I find that mixing different makes of polish can make things worse because a lot of them are designed to be used with each other.

I used to use only Autoglym stuff on my cars but but Meguiars is a lot better, although Autoglym's interior cleaning stuff is still the best.

mostly polish pad traces.. as I said, use the finest grain paste (similiar to milk phase) and softest pad you can find (make it wet time to time so it keeps its softness).. then use cotton and same paste by hand (dont use force , gently).. hand movement longitudinal (or along) to the part .. also paint must be cold , better you do it after the sun goes down or in a garage.. dark paints quickly become hot even in cloudy weather and easly scratched..

not practical imo.. sometimes I wash the miggy twice a day if its rainy..I cant think of

You could also use Harley Wax No1 Yellow Canuba Wax, leaves no swirls or white chalky dust either, easy to apply with the supplied pad and easy to remove. The more of the wax you apply to the pad the easier it glides over the paint work and does leave a very good finish, show room finish. It's the best stuff I have used, for waxes its very good, £18 for a tin and it will last a long time, it is a paste and is made from canuba wax not like most waxes/polishes that say they have canuba wax in they only have a tiny amount in the polish or wax the rest is made up of polymers etc. Try it you wont be disappointed.

yep.. the point I forgot.. carnauba wax is the last step..and best protector for paint.. also it fills the minor scratches

Still makes me laugh when i see people cleaning their car with one Bucket 

Nice one Chris and glad your using this method and i bet the results are better..

as for the swirling what clay bar do you use ??

Remember to use warm water when claying and ensure the bucket is grit free 8-)
