Bonnet Release
« on: 24 November 2007, 15:15:46 »

Does anybody know how to adjust a lazy bonnet release? Had a look in haynes but it only shows the removal.

I think I may have 2 problems.

The bonnet release doesn't work every time
And the release spring doesn't pop the bonnet up

Thanks
Colin

It's easier to do than to explain. The cable is held in by some clips and it eventually slips. You just need to losen the clips and pull the outer sheath towards the catch by a few millimetres. Tighten the clips again and the job's done.  :y

This can be adjusted at the spring if the bonnet does not pop, slight adjustment may be needed using a spanner at the base of the spring. if your cable is secure i would check the spring.
