Help - Breather box pipe blocked....
« on: 16 May 2008, 19:39:18 »

Hi guys.

I'm doing my breathers and have a blocked pipe.  Its the smallest one, no. 3 as seen in the pic below:

I've stuck a long wire down the whole length of the pipe but it seems to be the bottom bit where it comes out of the middle that's blocked.

I took this picture from the maintenance guide and cant work out exactly where the exit point for this pipe (purple line) is.  If I know that, maybe I can unblock it.

I've prodded around as much as I can with a thin bag tie wire but am not certain where to poke?

Can anyone offer advice on clearing this please?

Cheers

Neil

There are pin holes in the circular portion as in the photo insert.

A strand from a wire brush, held in vice grips and wriggle it in with copious carb cleaner....

Bloody Hell!

I didn't notice the two pin holes in the picture and Mine were completely blocked and covered in crud so I couldn't see them.

2 sodding hours tryin to clear that pipe ....I could have had it all back together by now.  Bang goes my ly-in tomorrow morning. >:(

Might be a useful note to put on the maintenance guide for future users?

Cheers for the help guys, much appreciated.   :y
