auto box swap

help folks, i am in the process of taking poccession of  3.0lt V6 elite with blown engine.
My question is this, can i put the ar35 auto box from this car into my 2.5 diesel with ar25 box. Mine has the beemer motor in.
I may well have bits for sale once i've had what i want so if you need something let me know and i'll see if i can help

I believe you can fit an ar35 box to either a 2.5 or a diesel....

It will fit the TD, but you'll need to use the TD bellhousing :y

yup, as Mr TD, Omegatoy, says, it will fit, reuse your td torque converter and bellhousing.  Downside is ar35 is slightly higher geared in 4th

so if i've got this right when u say use TD bell housing and torque convertor your refering to using the ones from the 2.5. so i can just put the 3.0 box straight on? wot about pipes and cables, electrics etc. wot difference will it have economy. all info gratefully recieved, many thanks

Yes, remove ar25 (with bellhousing and tc). Remove bellhousing and tc and fit to ar35, refit ar35.

Electrics, pipework, etc all identical. May have to change a bracket that holds exhaust in place, but easy enough.

I do a rather horrid 40 - 55mph journey in, I tend to lock mine in 3rd for best economy.
