Hello everyone i changed my camcover gaskets yesterday(followed the how too  ) but when i started the car after reassembling,the eml light is on so i have just done the paperclip test and the only code i am getting is 1-2 7-4-1-2-7-4 so i checked the eml list and it says 74   Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage High
can you help please as it running like a bag of nails now
any ideas please??how do i rectify this??have i put something back wrong
please HELP!!

Did you remvoe the MAF at all?

If you did, is it fitted the corrcet way round and the connector etc all ok?

Does it run better with the MAF disconnected

Did you connect the plug leads to teh DIS pack correcty, specificaly the 2-4-6 bank where it is easy to get it wrong!

i didn't touch the maf mate!!
and i didn't remove anything from the dis pack :-/

i just disconnected the maf and tried it and its a hell of alot worse without it connected :-/

Ok, check for air leaks......brake servi pipe, rubber O rings under the plenum etc

when the engine running there is a constant air(hissing)noise sounding like its coming from the back of the plenum ::)is this normal???or could that be the problem?? :-/ :-/

sounds like you have dislodged a o ring under plenum bud !!

wouldnt nessecery put eml on but would make it run like a bag of spanners ! take plenum off and check all connections and reseat o rings !

i just asked the lad from over the road(mechanic)who come over had a quick look   ::)this doesn't help he said as he plugs the camshaft sensor back in for me

it seems to be eml doesn't come on now and runs fine
