you dont need to remove owt to change crank sensor fella as you look at engine its on right hand side near the dispac back of the passenger head should be clipped to a black mount on the rear lifting lug !  :y

Lol, no, the connector is at the back of the passenger head and hangs out near the main connector for the injector loom....if its not been buggered then it will be clipped to a plastic clip on the rear engine mount

You're right, fly-by-wire 3.2 & 2.6 cars do not have a DIS pack. You have a coil pack clipped directly onto the top of each bank of 3 plugs.

alright fellas, looks like i'm back in the gang!

Meega failed to start up just before i swapped the sensor and started on key after.  :y

The real crunch test will be tomorrow outside my sons school and when i leave work, so fingers crossed.

I can't that you guys for the top class level of support you have given me.   As i have said before, i could never afford to run/maintain one of these at any garage price, so thanks a million.  :D

Oh and none of the work i did was from the top of the car.  I had my arms wrapped around the gearbox and have cuts all the way up with arms  :'(

Not too sure if i went the wrong way about things but the connector wasn't so easy to locate and unclip.

Maybe it was replaced before i bought the car and Vauxhall made a sh*t job at re-fitting the new one?  It's got a ful stealer history so i can only imagine that Vauxhall did screw it up!  >:(

My old sensoris dangling loose as it is too trapped.

Wired the new one via the brake pipes
