could be, ac pump is bottom right though, alternator is bottom left as you look at engine.

Dalminty pm'd me, he says he has removed the belt and checked the alternator and tensioner pulleys, he says they sound ok...
He drove the car for 20mins and only hears the noise occasionally.

I guess, if it was me, i would change the tensioner pulley and see. Dont know if anyone agrees?

Is it worth running the engine with the aux belt removed for a SHORT while and see if the noise stops?

I suppose also check the cam belt cover is tight and not rubbing.

Where is the secondary air pump, could it be that?
Thought it was front pas side by battery...
