That's the only reason aircraft have them.

It must be a bummer when you have to do some work instead of read the paper!

There would have been some soiled underpants in the cockpit if the other engine had started misbehaving though

I like reading the commentaries, too. Everyone turns into an air accident investigation expert despite having no association with aircraft other than having once travelled to Ibiza on one! Then they realise they're rumbled and get abusive
