The ( ! ) one...It doesn't light up...

I've so far:

• Changed the bulb in the dials
• Checked the switch on the handbrake handle itself
• Tested to see if it will light when I pull the fluid cap off

Nothing, not a sodding thing...  I've also checked all the fuses again and they are all right.

Any ideas where I might be best checking?  This is on the explod estate btw...  And it did pass its MOT with the light not working...

A light for t'handbrake is just a nice-to-have.  


Going back years ....... my Cavalier & Manta used to have a button on top of the master cylinder cap so you could test the float/switc/light. It appears to be missing on Omegas (can't remember about Senators  :-/)

I tried the cap from the Elite (which I know works) and made no difference

try disconnecting the brake pad sensors one at a time, brake pads tcould be fine but you may have a electrical short, the light will go off when you've found the right one, just keep it diconnected until you need to change the pads, its worth a try, had this problem on a car before.

Was just goint to say, that would be check control, not dash

Can`t you substitute the Elite switch to confirm that the plod switch isn`t faulty :question
