Heater only blowing cold air, NO Heat whatsoever
« on: 05 April 2009, 03:26:04 »

Hello chaps  ;)

just done a gig in Nottingham,  drove back from there to Oxford in the car, i had heat blowing out fine on the way up there, but on my way back home the damn heater is now blowing cold air only and ZERO Heat at all, even when its turnt up to HI on the controls, still cold air!
i tried the "reset procedure" and made no difference

i`m not going to whine, but i just seem to keep paying out on this damn heap of junk nowadays, if it ain't one thing its another....
this bloody Omega has cost me a fortune, and now this!
christ knows how much its gonna cost to get this done,

any ideas at all what could be causing me to get no heat?

right, im off to bed, im Mr Grumpy now and me feet are like slabs of ice, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  >:(

Morning!

checked the Vacuum Pipes, none of them are loose, unless their is some i cant actually see?  :-/

The Heater Matrix? is this an EXPENSIVE Problem to fix if it is??
please tell me its NOT  >:(

The Coolant Level is fine and the temperature gauge is as normal as it normally is on my car, hits 90 and stays there, goes down slightly

could it be a Thermostat?
as i said, im only getting Cold Air and no heat at all, i cant think of anything else at the moment

When mine did this, it was down to the matrix being blocked.

Free fix ( bar a bit of antifreeze)

Takes the pipes off that go from the engine bay through the bulkhead, and run a hose through each of them for a few mins.

You may also want to put a spare bit of hose on the other else your engine bay gets a drenching  :y

Have a look at this photo http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152565204
One rubber pipe has been removed, remove the other one and follow Jimbob`s advice :y
And this shows how to remove hoses http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1185891036 :y

just went out in my car and turnt the heating on to see if it had fixed itself,  it was set to cold, i put it back to hot and we have heat!!
then i turnt it back to cold and back to Hot and it stayed hot...
i then pressed OFF for 2 minutes, then turnt it back on and we have NO Heat again  >:(

have no idea why it fixed itself temporarily, could it be a sensor of some sort? or should i do the paperclip test?
