Hi all,

Just a quick question...How much coolant do I need to buy?

I am going to get the Vx pink stuff and am I right in saying it should be 50/50 mix?

I am just about to pop in my new oil cooler after a bit of a battle with the oil pipe nuts, so I want to get it right with the coolant.  Cheers

Yeah just 5 litres will do, when i replaced my water pump and refilled, it took 7 litres, i normaly mix in watering can first and put 50/50 but tried my anti freeze tester to find if was ok but only -5 so i than made it 3.5 litres of anti freeze and 2.5 water, give it a go for your self before you poor in car

system takes 9.7 litres if i remember rightly :-/ so for 50/50 mix 5 litres of coolant is about spot on.

The last couple of times i have emptied via rad drain and removed top hose, then flushed lots with water so only water in the block then stuck the whole 5 litres in for a pretty perfect mix IMHO

I don't think your coolant hydrometer works properly with pink anti-freeze.  :-/
