The header tank has the low level sender/sensor in it, if it's goosed, you need a new header tank.

Your temp gauge relies on the engine temp sensor which I think sits at the back of your engine (mines a V6). If the wire has come off, then you'll get zero reading on your gauge, if you're getting spurious readings, then it could be the sensor is u/s .... but I'd still suspect that the wire has come off. When you find it, if you ground the wire (ie touch the engine) you should get a full deflection of the gauge ie read HOT!

Hi andy I get teh check warning come on the dash saying Check coolant level !!! Also Tem gauge not going up at all,, Also had a look at the back of the engine can seem to find the sensor but ill have a look again in the morning dont suppose any one with the same engine could post a pic of theres or point me in the right direction  :y
