What exactly is it?

Any suitable on line sources for purchase?

I find it is a good sealer for other jobs so want some spare for non car use.

It's Loctite 598 or similar. Available from Halfrauds, etc. although the last tube of sealent I bought there (it will be the last too) was set solid in its' tube.

Dealer prices are probably pretty competitive - if they're still in business, of course!

Its black silicone sealer. http://www.absealants.co.uk/
although you will find that Soudal 40 FC  polyurethane from the same place is a much better general sealant.
