« on: 15 May 2009, 08:30:40 »

Hi Guys,

I keep getting a headlight field/vision error message on the screen not sure what has caused this it just started doing this the other night, also I might be paranoid here but the lights look very low as in direction. Any ideas?

If you get that message, then generally your lights will point low for safetly of other drivers.

Most common is the arm pops off the sensors.

Nearside front wishbone, and rear trailing arm are the 1st places to check for this.

A good code reader will pinpoint the fault for you as well.

If its the sensor arms popped off...pop it back in and hold it in place with a good elastic band etc :y A bodge that should last for years!

yeah, what he said. They default to low with an error and fail mot. Turn wheels to the right and pear in the pass side front wheel arch between door and wheel. You will see the sensor and link rod with 2 rose joints on top of the wishbone to chasis. Same on pass side rear. If its hanging down you can try to pack the ball joint with grease and press it back in but you will most likely need new. 50 sobs from vx. Iirc

Had this on my 3.0ltr elite when i got her just before last xmas had it Tec2 at dealers when they did my cam belt(now i'm very poor) they said it was the rear sensor! so i got one secondhand but as it turned out it was the front one so got a secondhand one again and fitted it myself in 10 mins then had TB do code check and all is now fine.

Thanks for that Guys,

How do I test each sender without a diagnostic?  Is there a way to tell which one (if either) is faulty?

Cheers
 :D :)
