Estate owners - favour please?
« on: 20 July 2009, 17:27:16 »

Hi Guys and girls

I'm trying to measure up what size LPG tank I could get up against the rear seats, in an estate.

Please would someone be good enough to measure up their boot for me?  :y

Would a spare wheel well tank, with a false floor above not be better, with the dogs etc in mind?

Just such a rubbish range - coupled with the fact that on most trips I'd want the spare wheel anyway, and would put it in the boot....  ::)

The Dogs are only small ,so given the size of an Omega boot, I think there'd be plenty of room  :y

Its the loss of the spare worries me, even though they are so seldom used.

Guess there is always the AA etc  :-/

there be loads of room for a tank
only problem i can see is if you need to use the full length of the load space because of droping the seats

PITA when up in the highlands, have a 3 hours wait for assistance, when with a spare you could be on your way in 10 minutes ;D

I did see an estate on e-bay a little while ago. I think it was an Opel import. The LPG tank had been fitted length-ways up against the cd player side so one side of the back seats could be lowered if required and the spare was still in the wheel well. The whole thing then had a box built over it and carpeted. Quite a novel solution and a big tank too.

I would never mount one length ways - it's a potential missile for the passengers, in the event of a crash...  :y

Mini facelift "R" MV6

90 litre tank across the back of the seat with a couple of inches spare both ends.

Still have the tank, can measure it for you.  :y
