Aux drive belt size
« on: 17 November 2009, 19:58:40 »

Does anyone know the size of the aux drive belt for a 2002 2.2 CD auto? I got one from eurocarparts when I got the timing belt stuff but they sent one that is too short. The original belt shrieks a bit on start up and when I rev.

Thanks

You sure they haven`t sent you a non-aircon belt :question As for the shrieking noise could be tensioner bearing, alternator bearing or waterpump bearing

have they sent you a 2.0 non-aircon one?

All 2.2 aux belts are the same size, as all 2.2's had climate.

They probs have sent me the non-aircon belt  :( I suppose it'd be just as easy to get one from my local accessory shop as go through the rigmarole of sending this one back.
I sincerely hope the shriek is not the water pump as I changed it about 3 weeks ago  ::) No, the noise was there before that. Could be the alternator or tensioner. I thought it might be the belt itself losing grip as its a bit old and worn. The noise is only for a moment when the engine speed is increasing, not all the time, as if it slips a bit on the crankshaft pully.

Pop the aux belt off, and start the car (just for 30 seconds) see if the noise remains.
