AR35 Box
« on: 18 December 2009, 17:56:50 »

Now that I have sourced an AR35 box for my chipped td, as it is fairly high mileage, 150k, I would like the box checked over/overhauled before fitting. I have read the posts ref TC and bellhousing swap.

Any recommendations as to how much to do, rough cost, and anyone who can be recommended to do the work? Preferably in my area. The box is off, so unable to drive it to check. It is reported in GWO by owner.

Happy Crimbo everyone :y

tbh, apart from an oil change its not worth bothering, unless it has known faults.

When I got a new box, I did oil change, filter & Thrust washer

cost about £50 for those bits, and about the same again for 10 litres Dex3

As Jimbob says, while the box is out its worth replacing the thrust washer and filter :y

sorry

Bits :
2 gaskets for sumps & paper gasket for thrust washer about £7
filter £10 (or you can clean)
Thrust washer £20
delivery from jpat £10

Oil - Fuchs Titan 4000 from opie £50

so about £100 to give a bit of a service to it.
