Outside Temp Display

My display is showing 45.6c and it was 9c outside. can anyone tell me how to fix the problem? i have a year 2000 2.5 CDX
Any help would be very welcome...

9 degrees celcius is 48 degrees fahrenheit. Sounds like the display needs to be changed to read in celcius; have you checked your owners manual?

Just looked in the manual; press the auto button on the climate control and hold in for about 3/4 seconds, this will change the display from F to C

IIRC this doesn't alter the display of outside temperature.

Previous discussions on this issue seem to have concluded that Tech2 is required to set F or C on the MID.

As the display is showing C the problem is likely to be corrosion of the electrical connector on the temperature sensor under the bumper (or a faulty sensor).

The reported "fix" of pressing auto on the CC will change the CABIN SELECTED TEMPERATURE on the CC between C & F .. it will NOT affect the MID in any way, shape, or form ....   :)

Had a similar thing with mine some time back, it was showing -35 to -45 then going up and down, checked the sensor on the front bumper the tip had been broken off, got a new one from the scrappy all working problem fixed, may be worth checking yours, HTH :y

Its attached to the under side of the front bumper, passenger side I think

2000 will be a facelift. Sensor is in the centre of the bumper. Open your bonnet and look down the front of the radiator and you'll see it :y

My display would start gradually counting up to a very high outside temperature.  My fix?  Hit the CC panel.  Happened twice and then never again in the year or so that I owned the car.
Perhaps a poor connection on the CC panel?  Not the method I'd recommend to 'fix' it (as I guess it could have broken more things) but one good thump with the palm of me hand seemed to get things going again.

Thanks guys! All sorted now. Sensor cost me £6. and 1 min to fit... Hope you all have a good Xmas and New Year!!!!
