Water pump change

Hey all:) quick question, I am about to replace my waterpump on my 2.5D (BMW) I'm just wondering what size torque socket do I need to save me buying a full torque set:)

its a 10mm from memory?

Or are you talking about torque wrench?

Is there any other tools I need for this job before I start?

T is torx. Not got a TD now, but sure it was 4 x 10mm bolts holding pump in place.

8mm to remove pully.

13mm (?) to remove pressure from tensioner.

32mm (?) to remove fan.


Hopefully someone can confirm sizes, as I'm going from memory

Usually VX tensioners are 15mm but being a 'foreign' engine it might not be.

torx not often used on that BMW lump - its mostly standard metric bolts.

10mm 'regular' type socket, Eric.
Personally, I use a 1/4" square drive set to do this job.
