TD no4 injector dilemma
« on: 16 February 2010, 12:18:48 »

o,k i received my replacement injector this morning, the problems ive got is: 1/ its got a black plug & mine is white. & 2/ the locating lug on the new one is in a different position, other than that the plug looks the same as the pins are marked up 1&2  the same as mine, is there a reason why the plug setup has been changed or can i just cut the locating lug off so it goes in. :-/

You should, if very careful with a pin, be able to remove the plug cover and swop it over to the original so it fits properly.

i did think of that welung but the wires are well sealed in the top of the plug, ive cut the lug off the plug now & marked the plug so i get it the correct way round, it still bugs me why the plug is slightly different, im just hoping its vx being awkward & not the fact that maybe the chip in the injector is set up differently, oh well id better go & try it, time to get my arm cut to bits getting it to plug in as its a swine to get to. :o :o :o

I had the same issue and trimmed the lug off. Been running it for about 2 years now, no problems.  :y
