... So can I fit the nice lookig headlights ?

You can fit non-HID lights, as long as they are "E" marked

HID lights look light normal projectors from the front ...  but at the back is a box about the size of a cigarette packet ... the ballast pack .. and loads of warnings about extreme high voltages.

New from VX will cost you an arm AND a leg !!!

From egay .. beware of non-E marked crap and lefthand drive fittings.

IMHO your best bet is the breakers in the "parts " section on the forum

Yes. But there are 2 types of 'nice' headlights. make sure that the ones you fit are Halogen and not Xenon, otherwise you will have to fit all the self levelling kit required as well .

that's not necessarily correct......

The lights you want are Projector lights. Breakers on the forum may have them but are sometimes nervous about posting them as the internal part of the adjusters are VERY fragile and can easily get damaged in transit. :y

They call these "fisheye" headlights. Very easy to install (DIY). Although I replaced the main beam's standard H1 55W halogen bulb into a 100W H7 bulb.  So much brighter. I think I don't need HIDs anymore.

Reading thru the thread, am getting the impression that ALL MV6 has HID fitted? Mine's a '97 MV6. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Is yours x-plod? MV6 Retail spec was not released until late 1998

Not sure I agree with that Tunnie. I've got an original MV6 retail brochure somewhere and am sure it was dated '97. It will be a '98 model year, which would have been built following the factory break in Russelsheim summer '97. By the time they got to UK dealers it would be after the introduction of R reg on 1st August '97 - which is why you see R reg retail MV6's but never a P. My old MV6 was registered on an R in Feb 98.
