Yes. But there are 2 types of 'nice' headlights. make sure that the ones you fit are Halogen and not Xenon, otherwise you will have to fit all the self levelling kit required as well .

It's a '98.
By xenon I assume you mean H.I.D.  Xenon does not mean HID exclusively. They could have Xenon H1 bulbs fitted, but these are not H.I.D.

Don't need self levelling kit for xenon filled H1 - do for xenon HIDs - fair assumption? :-?
Both our Elites are 98s and both factory fitted HID lights.

Well, ya live 'n' learn !  I thought HID's were a Facelift thing only.
Elites only on mini F/L or an option across the range ?

According to this ..

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152617113

Mini-facelift  Elites and MV6 got HIDs , others got projectors but with "normal" bulbs (which may contain xenon or halogen ..both being noble gases .. :)  )

those pre-facelift headlights do look bad, like they have become dirty or misted up inside, but they shine ok.

If you've got HIDs you will have headlight washers fitted and no manual light height adustment knob to left on light switch.

Prefacelift (>1997) - No HIDS
Minifacelift (1998-1999) - HIDs std on Elite and MV6 (retail and plod)
Facelift (2000-2003) - HIDs std on CDX, Elite and MV6 (retail and plod)

Am getting confused. Yes I have headlight washers and I have a dial which adjusts the headlight height? So which is which? :question :-/

I am about to change my headlights into angel eyes but when I looked at what bulb is installed I found none except for a rectangular fuse-like attachment with two wires.
