alternator removal 2.2
« on: 16 March 2010, 12:02:23 »

Can someone please point me in the right direction for removing the alternator on the 2.2 engine starting with slackening the aux belt. Theres loads on the v6 but nothing on the 2.2.

It's a similar setup with the tensioner to get the belt off. Then a plug at the back and the bolts. Very easy on the 4 pots :y

getting the belt off seems to be the biggest problem, I have loosened the centre bolt on the tensioner and the top left bolt on the frame but it wont budge

You don`t loosen the bolt. 15mm spanner on it, turn clockwise as though you`re tightening it and the tension will release
