when automatic gearbox shows...you have to drive it as a manual using the 1-3 positions.

If it happens again, check the fluid level as a starting point, but as a 1 off I would ignore it.

The TC one is quite unusual though.

Sounds like car has gone into "limp mode" having detected a problem. I had similar problem to this whereby the TC light also came on and the problem turned out to be a faulty gear selector switch. Are all the lights on the gear selector coming on at the same time? If so, then it probably is the selector switch.

Agree TC light unusual. Are you sure it was not the panel light showing a car with a spanner through centre?

This is what happens to mine in similar circumstances.

I restart and it disappears. Happens say once every 3 months now - one day will no doubt get to bottom of problem. ATF and filter were changed a few  months ago but still this occasional problem emerges

That happened to mine, a 20.L, did it quite a lot when I first bought it over 18 months ago now,  I got it plugged in and it suggested a 2/3rd switch solenoid in the box. As luck would have it, its not done it since, did all the usual stuff, changed the ATF, filter, swore at it loads, cleaned every outer visible switch on the box in desperation! I dont know if that helped it.
