TD maintenance Manual
« on: 25 March 2010, 13:29:51 »

Thanks for the help guys, does anyone know of place where i can get a maintenance manual for this stupid engine, ive looked everywhere and there arnt any even for the cars other cars it went into like the 325tds or the range rover, its just so annoying, why build and engine and then not have maintenace manuals for it, what do the other tractor owners do on here? sorry for getting annoyed its just that this has been building for a while now and i would like to do a few things to it over easter but im scared of doing anything without a manual because it could go wrong and then i would be screwed  :'(

the only thing you realy need to do is regular oil and filter changes I change my oil every 6 weeks fuel filter every 4 weeks and air every 3 months my tractor is touching 180,000 miles it might seem a bit OTT but its worth it in the end :y
the only tip I will give is don't tighten the fuel filter to tight :y

Oil every 5k (very little city driving) air yearly , fuel every 40K have one in the boot. Now 185K and engine is the best part. I'll wait for the insults.

Remember the manufacturers stated oil change is 4.5k max, and we all know they are overly optimistic

Engine oil/filter every 2.5k using Vx 10/40 semi-synth.
Plus clean-out the charge-air pipe/EGR.

Air and fuel filters every 5k.
Air filter inspected at each 2.5k service.

Annual mileage is around 5k with lots of shortish local trips, so well worth it! :y

amazing how many people use different methods?
mine is oil and filter every 3 or 3.5k depending on usage
air filter every year (just after winter)and fuel filter every year(in summer months) only run super diesel in it unless i cant get it and always a little synthetic 2 stroke oil added to the tank
intercooler cleaned out every year along with rest of inlet pipes
egr blanked or unblanked every oil change just to give the inlet manifold a chance to clean itself out a bit, not sure if it works but it seems to keep it very clean running over the year :y

Annual mileage 20K. The only thing bad about these engines is the mpg. And I think driving it faster has fixed the Egr prob.
