Not really, have a look & see what you think.  :y
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1169337137 A misfire could just be a spark plug, but could also be due to a failed coil pack. Have a look down the spark plug holes for signs of oil, cam cover gaskets fail & flood the plugs.  ;)

Have you got any service  history with this car or receipts for recent work and when is the cambelt due? This is relevant to work out the best way to resolve your problem e.g. have the plugs been changed per schedule?,camcover gaskets recently replaced?

From your pm, car has done 94k,cambelt 80k,loads of history but no mention of cam cover replacement or spark plug change. Have you checked plug wells visually as recommended  by Andy B? If you have decided to leave it to a mechanic then show him the guides on here.If the wells are contaminated then cleaning them might provide a very short term fix but you will need the camcover gaskets changed and the breathers cleaned a.s.a.p.,again show your man the guide on here. If they are uncontaminated then change the plugs as the cheapest start point and if that doesn`t sort it then you 99% need a new coil pack.
Lastly , did you do the `pedal trick` to identify your misfire on cylinder 2?. Regardless ,do it anyway(guide on here) and post up the codes showing. Oh and yes, driving with a misfire can damage the cat convertors.
Go to maintenance guides, click maintenance guide index and scroll away
