Help needed PLZ regarding the testing of DIS pack
« on: 19 May 2010, 10:01:27 »

According to the advise of MarksDTM the following was written -
'A crude method for testing your DIS pack is to unplug the knock sensor and run the engine, the retarded timing will result in a higher voltage being required to ignite the fuel and hence a weak DIS pack will often miss fire'
Does anyone know if BOTH sensors have to be unplugged or will just one suffice  :-?

Mark will tell me off for this - as, you should eliminate things properly... but, For £37, I would (did) just replace the damn thing :y

Ahh but did it cure the problem? (as my doctor would say!)

My problem is this - i'm as much use as a chocolate fire guard when it comes to mechanics & i thought in my wisdom that it would be far easier for me to unplug something than to replace something  ::) :-[
