Open boot when central locking and keyfob do not w
« on: 06 June 2010, 20:41:43 »

As the owner of a 2.6CDX Omega (52) reg is there a way of opening the rear boot lid when  the key fob remote does not work nor does the release button on the bottom right of the stereo unit.   [smiley=sad.gif]

Have you tried holding the button in for 3 or five seconds? :-/ :-/

The only way the button 'inside' works is when the key is 'removed'  :y

As for the button on the remote control - i've the same problem but i'll try what Lizzie has suggested & push me knob in for 3-5 secs then it should pop up ............
and no funny remarks thankyou  :o ;D ;D

If the release has failed electrically/electronically, lower the rear seats, there is a manual release lever in the top of the bootlid so you can open in an emergency.

As for the button by radio working, depends on age - earlier facelifts need the key out of ign, later ones just need button press and hold for about 3s.

mine did this and i had to open it using the manual release, after checking the the catch i found that it was very loose so tightened it and works every time now, just thought.

The favourite is a broken wire in the 'flexi ish' loom to the boot.

But drop the seats and pull the latch to get in (unless you have a stupidly large LPG tank  ;D)

forgot to mention when pressing key fob or dash button i could hear the solenoid kicking in very very faintly.
once you have managed to open the boot press the plunger button  at the side of the lock and press the boot release button and if it was just loose like mine you will hear the solenoid activate.
