I  have  got a real tech2 you can use ?

Yes please!!

Any chance of popping over, over the next couple of evenings? ;)

(Plus, you'll get to meet the person who did the cambelt/service on your Elite ;D ) :y

Chris - thanks mate - although, I thought even if non-ODB2, usually basic functions such as code reading tend to work, as per tech2?

think you've just proved,  obd2 only readers wont read the non obd codes, such as those from the paperclip test, compare those to the pedal trick test and you'll see rhe codes are differant. Differant protocol. But tech2 by nature must do both.

or put it another way why would a generic obd2 reader read anything else? it wouldn't know what to do with vx pre obd codes or anything else from any other pre odb manufacturer.

Anyway, best of luck with it.
