Hi Guys,
Can anyone please help me with the part number of a K & N drop in filter for the Omega MV6. Also which is better drop in filter or cone type.

Cant remember the reason the the cone filters are not recomemded, something to do with afecring the MAF.

Stick with the original air box - so will be the drop in air filter, and possibly no gain from the K&N iver the Original Vx filters.

No real gain to be had over Genuine Vx Air Filter TBH ;)

isn't the MAF affected by the oil used in both cone and drop-in K&N type filters? A cone filter will be sucking in hot air from the engine bay. Best left standard  :y

im my experience a panel filter is the best option to go for unless you have a heat sheild and a direct cold air feed, a fully enclosed kit like a viper is very expensive, imho i would go for either pipercross - itg -k&n or a genuine vx paper one and modd the airbox

Why do you want K&N?

The genuine panel filters have a huge area and are very free flowing..
GENUINE, not pattern, halfrods etc which are 1/2 the thickness.

The oil from a K&N can get downstream and destroy your MAF

If you want the noise effect....drill some holes in the bottom of the air box for a similar effect.

K&N wont improve your performance over a good clean panel filter.

I would recommend a genuine GM filter.  Oiled filters are likely to preamturely kill the MAF, Cones reduce performance, partially due to hot air, partially due to small surface area.

Unless a (good quality) cone filter is in it's own box with it's own dedicated cold air feed, forget it.
All these do is suck in hot air and bugger up the AFM readings.
Buggers up the economy, the power output and costs you in fuel.
On the plus side, they sometimes sound nice.
However, a good quality OEM replacement filter in the standard airbox sometimes helps - in the case of the K&N, it will last nigh-on forever (and don't bother cleaning a K&N, they flow better when dirty. Strange but true - look it up on Retro Rides)

K&N 57i High Flow Air Filter 33-2734
or Pipercross Panel Filter PP1532
As said, a cone filter actually decreases performance, because it draws hot air from under bonnet.
