Interesting reading. Not sure I'd fancy going that fast on rubber that old :o although it seems to have been ruled out as a contributing factor.

'There is only one Stig and there has only been one stig since Perry (black stig) left four years ago. They get a couple of stand ins when the proper Stig is away racing, but never for the power laps for the leader board or for the celebritys. The Stig is not Ben Collins - he has worked on the show before and sometimes supplies racing drivers to top gear for stuff like motorhome racing or car football - hence being mentioned in a health and safety document. And it's not Damon Hill. I worked on the show last year so I do know what I'm talking about. As for his identity? Well you'd all be pretty amazed when you do find out! I still can't believe they've kept it a secret for so many years!!!'
