Experts near Gatwick?
« on: 30 August 2010, 00:41:35 »

Now I've got an Omega I'm sure I'll soon be needing the help of one of the OOF mechanical wizards.  Are any of you within sane driving distance of the Gatwick Airport area, M25 junction 8?

Thanks!

I wouldn't call myself a mechanical wizard, but I've had about 14 facelift Omega's by now...so know enough.
I'm in Oxford, but I'm picking a friend up from either Gatwick or Heathrow on Sept the 9th. I'm not sure which yet, but most likely to be Gatwick. I have a 2003 2.6 manual Elite, and would be more than happy to 'compare cars' if that's of any use.
I can give it a basic check over and see if anything's amiss etc.

Agreed :y

I am not too far, but depends what you need doing as to whether one of us nearby can help.  If you have a lot that needs doing PM Darth Loo Knee and find out when he's next in the area :y

Nothing specific right now - I'm just thinking of general servicing over the coming years.

There is a small repair shop close to me which is pretty good but I would rather put the business out to someone on OOF just for the specialist expertise and to help keep the community going.  I've worked in small and one-man businesses most of my life and reckon it's good to support each other if possible.

Then Looknee is your man, he comes down south from time to time especially when he wants to try flirting with me yet again.  He's a pest actually although you can't deny the quality of his work  ;D ;D

Thanks - very generous offer but I'm afraid I won't be around next week.  And there's nothing urgent as far as I can tell so I'm in no rush at present.  Drop by for a drink next time you're passing through, though.  :y

I've just noticed the OOF map thingy.  Is the password available to newbies?
