Difference between MV6 and CD when driving.
« on: 22 October 2010, 11:15:20 »

Hi again, i'm hoping someone can help.

I've been driving my MV6 properly for the first time today and having owned 3 migs in the past but never an MV6 I must say there is a big difference in the ride and handling  :y

I currently have a 2.6 cd as well and hopping out of one and into the other I notice the power steering is quite different between the 2. The reason for this post is I would like reassurance that there is a difference and that I haven't a fault.

I put a new pas pump on last week as it had failed and now the MV6 has perfectly good power steering but considerably less assistance than my cd.

the steering assistance has 3 levels of assistance, only changeable with tech2.

it may be the cars are at opposite ends of the scale

Ah, that makes sense as the cd does seem exceptionally light to the point that when I get in the wifes' meriva that feels heavy :D

I know that these cars have speed sensitive steering assistance, could it be that something is faulty and I'm therefore only getting high speed assistance even at low speed or am I talking molluscs?

Not to worry anyway I'm happy with the MV6 as it defo feels more like a drivers car than any mig I've had before.

You should get the most assistance at low speeds ;)

The PAS setup is the same on all, but there are settings within the PAS ECU for different levels of assistance
