uh oh big leak

my gearbox is leaking rather badly now it looks like its coming from the join between box and engine can anyone help? i know the breather is leaking and i will be attemting to do that tomorrow snowing or not but could this oil be from the breather too? its a kinda pinky/ browny colour?? plus whats the best way to clean the oil off from under the car :(

Sounds like transmission fluid. It's the right colour.  :(

thanks thats what i thought any ideas how to stop it lol and also how to remove whats leaked all over the bottom of the car :D any advice will be much appreciated.

If the fluid is indeed leaking from inside the bellhousing then it will be gearbox out job to sort, best to clean away as much oil as you can to be sure where it's coming from. Brake cleaner is good for this as it will evaporate and leave the area dry

thanks for all your help guys i have acomplished the breather tube change and the throttle body clean today. i have changed the oil and used some of the lifter treatment recomended in some of the posts for the engine noise BUT i still need some help. i bought new sparks for her and wen i took off the coil pack the holes for the plugs were absoloutley full of oil compeltly covering every plug :S confused me a little how she was still sparking but i have cleaned it out and replaced the plugs any ideas how it got there and what i can check?

i had same problem and it was cam cover gasket.

Make sure to use genuine GM gaskets.   :y
