Audiable Beeps
« on: 22 February 2011, 21:00:46 »

Hi all,

Has anyone had any bleeps come from the engine bay.
Yesterday as I switched off the engine and got out, my 2.6 cdx 2002 gave 4 beeps, not any sort of beeps that come from an alarm, but somthing similar. It also happened a couple of days previous.

Any ideas ?

Regards  Geoff  :-?

It is your alarm powersounder.

Remove it, Remove it NOW

these things die, and die badly and have been know to burn cars to the ground with them

check the maint guide section on how to  :y

Thanks for that, looked back into the web history for other experiences and after frightening the life out of my wife, it  is coming out at the weekend. :o Just as an after thought, is this problem also linked to the alarm going off while driving. It has only happened a couple of times but this has been in the last 2 weeks about the same as the bleeps occured.

when it happened to my old astra, the sounder would go off at random, including while driving.

As a side note get shut of it properly as they can go up sitting in your toolbox/garage/shed etc even when removed

Sounds like a faulty battery pack, just like the ones with some laptop computers.
