Suspension rebuild?
« on: 01 March 2011, 11:26:47 »

Put some new tyres on my mig recently as the olds were worn on the edge, since this the steering is wooly to say the least. I will be doing the wishbones but is it worth changing ought else while I am in there?

depends where the play is....

could be steering idler
track rods ends
wishbone bushes
worn shocks

rear donut bushes also dont help.

I'd get over to Nigel Langs in Bolton for full geometry afterwards, and get it set up properly

Since you fitted new tyres it's wooly? What tyres? I know my car was terrible on the old tyres I had, I mean really bad, it was hard to keep it in the middle of the road, now I have new tyres its 100 times better

I think the shagged suspension had worn the tyres into something it felt happy with if you get what I mean, nice new tyres are probably upsetting it and exascerbating the play! will do the wishies and track rod ends, idler is fairly recent :y
