Thanks for all your replies chaps, i put it all back together this afternoon and bled the water system properly and it seems to have stopped doing whatever it was doing.

I fitted the new bolts from Vx and applied thread lock on where possible, i'm off to Weymouth with work tomorrow night and return on Sunday so it'll have a lovely long run.

Fingers crossed its all ok now  :-/

Thanks to Kevin, Paul, Chris, Mr Loo-knee for all your advice!  :y

Well i've just got back from a round trip to Weymouth for work (left Thursday and returned an hour or so ago) and everything seems fine.

She did 380ish miles to a full tank and that was at a good pace ;)  Only downside is that my cruise control has stopped working  :(

I'm going to replace the clutch pedal switch tomorrow as that was showing as faulty, hopefully that'll remedy it.

That's 24.7 MPG, assuming you used 70 litres for the 380 miles :y

Really? Is that pretty good then?  I was averaging about 85-90 most of the way until the A roads got to narrow.

I never knew it was a 70 litre tank lol
