Headlights
« on: 29 June 2011, 20:09:47 »

Hi
My drivers side headlight -zeon - is slightly lower than the passenger side. when i start the car up the display says there is a problem. would the fault be inside the fitting or elsewhere. if anyone can supply any details or pics of headlight that would be great. 8-)

I think this is what you`re looking for  ;)
Headlight adjusters

I`ve just done one of mine for the MOT and I`ll do the other this weekend.
If you take off the cover above each light and reach down to the sidelight/main beam bulb rubber cover and and press forwards the lens will move if the adjusters are broken.
It could also be the servo motor not levelling up the lens, you can hear these when you turn on the ignition.

I doubt that the ally adjusters would help here, the HID auto levellers would have no idea if the adjuster is broken so won't know to display the fault. This problem could very well be the motor for that headlight in that one light is moving & the other isn't.
Other fault areas are obviously the sensors front & back on the nearside suspension.

It would help if you said if you posted the error message displayed!

Assume you have HIDs - xenon lights.

As Andy says probably dodgy servo motor behind light unit.

but as per my reply above, knackered adjusters won't put the warning message up.  ;)

The plastic adjusters have a waxy feel to them but here's hoping your super duper glue is up to the task in hand - Araldite isn't  ::)

Just managed to put all parts for the headlight back together and so far ... glue holding fine. tested lights and at moment haven't had the warning come up. will try night driving later and see how it performs. :D

Headlight fine but the problem was with the adjuster arm that feeds both headlights. Still, fixed and mot-ed now. good for another 12months
Nice to hear the tester say this is such a good car considering the age of it. ;)
