catalytic converter failure - o2 sensor fail?
« on: 18 August 2011, 09:21:01 »

if your catalytic converter failed would you get an error code from the o2 sensor? i dont have a fault, and im hoping its not the cat, but i have a rattle coming from that area. with a bit of luck it will be loose heatshield or something.

Not necessarily.

Hopefully it's just a heat shield and not the internals starting to rattle, although I've seen them with rattly internals and still passing the emissions tests OK :y :y
