NCDC 2013/5
« on: 23 October 2011, 20:38:40 »

 I have a CID coming....    ::)

thought i also had an NCDC coming with it, but it appears not.....     (yes i'm told the CID has been put in delivery mode )

now there's not much point in getting it fitted and tech2 paired to my unit,  since it's cartridge is jammed, and the facia likes popping off on it's own ....

so i need a working , non faceplate destroyed NCDC2013.

OR,   a fix on mine...

don't really mind either way.... but want a solution by the Wycombe meet,  on the 5th of November...  hopefully.....   hell maybe we could even do the fitting as part of the meet??   (if Jaime is going to come, and IF he's willing to bring Tech 2, and take my beer vouchers... )

anyone....???????

well,  searching has revealed nothing, i'm sure some helpful person will have done a how to thread... but i'm buggered if i can find it.....

that and there's the question of having the means to remove the unit to get at it's insides....

i'm fairly handy with precision tools.... and soldering irons and the like.... (i occasionally do maintenance and repair on £500,000 mixing desks ;)  )  so if i can get it out, and there's a how to guide, i can probably do it myself....

but still equally happy to buy a known working good unit.....

or am i going to have to change the CD changer itself??

Max,

Follow the guide until you get to removing the vertical pcb, but don't actually remove the pcb.  At this point it should be fairly obvious what screws need to be undone to remove the metal frame covering the cartridge. One that is out of the way, you should be able to remove the cartridge, and then re-assemble everything.

The reason the cartridge gets 'jammed' is because it actually opens up once inside the changer.  Yours has failed to retract properly, so wont eject.  Once you have removed it, you should find it will push back together, and be as good as new.  :y

If the mech isn't distorted, the jammed cartridge is fixible.

The facia, not so easy. Depending on which clips are broken (lots by sound of it), glue  :'(

Reattached a broken CCR2006 fascia with a combination of glue and screws, which worked well.  Not done a NCDC, but would imagine the principle is the same.  :y
