Another old mate very ill.
« on: 15 November 2011, 22:12:19 »

Some of you may remember a couple of years ago i posted a piccy of a Rolls Royce on the front having a valet. This belongs to an old workmate called Geoff. He's a funny sort but a nice bloke & has been with our small family run firm since the beginning, never liked container work so was still stripping out DHL tilts in his 70's till ill health got the better of him. He then retired & moved from a little old caravan where he'd lived for years to a retirement bungalow less than a year ago. My Gaffer phoned me today asking if lodger Steve could help out with the resto on the roller then broke the news that Geoff has been re admitted to hospital. Geoff's only 5 ft nothing & barely 5 stone but his belly & feet have blown right up. He has'nt taken any solids or liquids in or passed anything for 4 days.

He's one of the good old english eccentrics. Worked a harder job than he had too, lived in a caravan or his truck to save rent/bills but spent fortunes on his car, a real grafter. My gaffer actually sounded upset, fingers crossed.
