I am going to buy one of them and want to know what you guys/gals think. It will be myself, wife and 2 kids (both below 4) who will use it so what do you lot think?

I think the motorhome is good as its all in one but thought if i go to newquay for instance then if i need to go to the town then i have to drive the motorhome there and finding a parking space would be a tad hard.

Any ideas?   :D

Have you seen the Avatar, think this is Loo Newbie under cover, who else would post such a question. ;) ;)
Sorry if it is genuine and what Miggy said would be my answer. :D

If it is i just took the rather bait............if it is Loo newbie, i cannot put in print what i would say to you..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

LOL  ;D ;D ;D :y :y

You would not wat to be either, IMHO i would go for the caravan, when my daughter was young it was good fun, you have an home base and a lot cheaper than hotels etc if you intend using it often, come and go as you please.

Apologies from me and welcome to the forum.
Some of the antics of the forum take a bit of getting used to, I just watched for the first few weeks, not daring to post as everyone seemed to know each other so well. Time cures all, most of us have never met we just get used to each other on here, and I am still new to it all really. There is no offence meant to anyone, it is all in fun and Loo newbie being a newbie is common place, happens regularly.
Get a Caravan, as has been said packing up the motor home to pop to the shops is a pain, also you cant leave swmbo behind with the kids while you slope off somewhere. When we had our tourer I used to commute to work sometimes during the long summer holidays. Whatever you decide enjoy btw we now have a static caravan, home from home. :) :) :)

Caravan - much nicer vehicle when you get there, motor homes are best for one night stays, poor for long stays

Pro's and con's
Motorhome
Tax, MOT, servicing and insurance  every year
Ability to move from site to site very quickly
If over 6 foot high very limited parking
Cost seems ridiculous.
Possibility of loosing your pitch when out for the day
Few dealers able to service the base vehicle as they can't get high tops in there workshops

Caravan
Insurance every year
Does not cost just to sit in a driveway
No chance of loosing your pitch on a site
Far easier home maintenance
Not so easy to move sites if you are out that day you have to return to site to collect caravan
Easy theft target, even just stopped in motorway services they can get stolen.
Towing long distace can be tiring

Personally I don't own either, but family members have both and these are just observations I have made while seeing and talking about there set ups.
