Caravan or Motorhome?
« on: 16 March 2008, 22:14:50 »

I am going to buy one of them and want to know what you guys/gals think. It will be myself, wife and 2 kids (both below 4) who will use it so what do you lot think?

I think the motorhome is good as its all in one but thought if i go to newquay for instance then if i need to go to the town then i have to drive the motorhome there and finding a parking space would be a tad hard.

Any ideas?   :D

On a serious note....You are correct about the parking thing, it can sometimes be a little hard to park a motorhome in some of the small places i have visited, also when you are pitched up on a site and you wish to go anywhere you have to disconnect everything and put anything you have out on your surfaces away.
Each to there own and dont get me wrong, motorhomes are a good way to get about the country when you have small children, they also hold their prices better than a caravan, some of them cost a small mortgage.

I am hoping to borrow My dads for the lakes meet, he's got a little camper van for his 'one man and his dog moments' never gets used. ;)
At a couple of caravan places yesterday swmbo adamant we are not selling our static and getting a tourer. :D

Yeah, ive just been saying that to the wife. I have seen a big motorhome , lovely and all but nearly 40k. Seen a 6 berth Brand New caravan with fixed bed in the back for £14k , thats a big difference.

Hi qwerty. Don't be put off by the "in" jokes on here. I've been here ages and I still don't understand some of the things that go on.  ::)

Welcome to the forum, anyway. If you're going to get an Omega (what size engine?), I understand it is a super vehicle for towing. At the end of the day, though, it depends on your personal preference.

If you've got two young nippers, I would prefer to have them properly strapped up in the back of the Omega. Too many distractions in the motorhome.
