3.0l or 2.5l

Which is more reliable 3.0l or the 2.5l keep hearing rocker covers leak all the time on the 2.5 is this true? Also is there much difference in fuel economy? Thank you in advance for help Regards Steve

They are basically the same block.  No difference in cam cover seals - there's just more 2.5's around.

Cam cover gaskets leak on both the v6 motors if
 A= They have been fitted wrong
 B= They have used non vx parts
 C= The breathers are blocked and crankcase pressure blows them.
 D= The cam covers are warped due to being tightned down to much.

 2.5 IS VERY FRUGAL WITH THE FUEL AND GIVES GOOD PERFORMANCE
 3.O IS NOT SO GOOD ON FUEL, BUT BOY WILL IT PUT A SMILE ON YOUR KISSER :y

I've had both. 2.5 is better on the fuel by a few MPG, 3.0 is noticeably more responsive on the throttle but I'm not sure its enough of a difference to warrant the difference in fuel economy. Next time I'm going to try for a 2.6.

How is the 2.2 petro; in all this would imagine it being quite slugish for the weight of car is this true?

Well I had a 2.0 and it was quite responsive but nowhere near as refined as the V6's
