Thinking of a BMW.
« on: 27 March 2008, 20:34:27 »

Hi folks,

Not posted in a while but I wanted to see what the peeps on here think of the 530 E39 as a replacment for my ex-police MV6 which TBH is getting fairly tired.

I have seen a 530i Auto sport on a '51 plate that had done 76000 miles for 7995. Full leather and other toys, how does this car rank as a replacment for the Meega in your opinions?

Regards Karl

I would love a V8 but finding one round my area seems to be like finding hens teeth, at least i would save a bit on the insurance though!

Cheers karl

Hi
51 plate thats 2001 = 7 years old = another 3 years and no longer listed in Glass' guide and it costs £7995. and probably will fall into the £430 per year tax
I am sorry but I could not justify that much money on a 7 year old car.

Just my useless opinion.

They are good cars..Dont have problems like 528 or 540..

But personally I'd go for 330..

I know a couple of people who have owned Bmw's and driven them hard on a regular basis and they appear to be very strong motors. :y

That is quite a bit - how much for same age 3.2 Elite

I think the older BMWs were better made.

My boss put a high mileage on a 535i - pity it was cramped in the back, went well, a tiny bit quicker than a 3.0 MV6 I'd say

A valid point mate, just had a look on parkers and it does fall into that band from 2009 440 for 12months tax!
The Car tax system is totally backwards!!
