WTD Bose cdc2 plugs/loom
« on: 02 March 2012, 20:28:32 »

I have found a CDC2 (thanks to Lincs Robert) but I need the CD side of the loom as some B*****D has cut the plugs off my loom when they took out the old CD unit  >:( >:(

How much cable has been cut off the loom that was in your car?

If it's only a short length then you could splice on a section with the CD connector from a CCR600 unit. This means that your source could be a CDX or MV6 rather than Elite with a CCR800.

Ken,

How much of the cable has been cut off from the loom in your car?

The CD connector loom goes into a bundle with the bose amp which is behind the trim panel in the area of the fuel filler cap. I'd be very surprised if more than a foot or so has been cutoff. My point being that you almost certainly dont need a whole Bose/estate loom which will be a pain to get hold of - but about a foot (or whatever) of cable with the CDC2 connector on and a simple bit of splicing to the cable that's already in place in your car.

I "might" even know of somewhere I can get this for you  :y.

Yeah I reckon about just under a foot, I asked for the loom because I thought a whole loom would've been easier to get hold of rather than just the plugs  :y

The whole loom is quite a significant bit of cabling - whereas the plug (with a short length of cable) can be hacked off from an existing car and the cable joined - then all you have to do is splice the cables.

Fingers crossed I can get hold of one for you in the next few days.  :y

I might be persuaded to sell the loom seperately, depending on price.  Not sure if it will be any good for you though, after what TB said about the CCRT700 having a different loom to the CCR800.  :-\
