beautiful jag. although i can't help but feel the styling and bodywork is nowhere near as smooth as this....

This is now getting worrying - have asked some questions of the seller and got a really nice / detailed positive answer as well as the offer of pics of anything i want to see.

The guy has a spreadsheet of all fuel consumed since new. Methodical  ;)

No nasty surprises found yet to rule it out  :-?

They are so effortless too on the motor way. I was following one years ago in my Senator at 'excessive speeds' Where mine was changing down a gear to keep up, his just squated down & powered away with ease.  :y

Hi fella,
stunning car, but, BEWARE!!!
Have some experience of these & they do suffer with front sub-frames.
There is sometimes a bit of play that appears to be from one of the lower arms. If this is not noticed early enough, where the arm bolt goes through the subframe it can actually make the bolt hole in the sub-frame slightly oval.
The only cure is a new subframe & I believe they are around £1500 fitted.
Don't mean to scare you, just trying to warn you,
12 months MOT would be a promising sign,
I hope it works out for you,

Seriously though, i did some research on it, one of biggest issues was the V8 Nikal seal, it was to do with the fuel at the time.

According to Jag forums, you can take it to any Jag dealer and they will do a "blow back" test or something?  :-/

It sounded like a HG test, but it tested the combustion in the pots, and checked for Nikal issues.

The general consenses is, that if it did have problems, it would have blown up by now as the fuel issues where a long time ago.

Remember it will not be affected by the new Tax rules for 2009  ;)

My old man has a XJS 4Lt Supercharged.  I drove it once and......


.......sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeted myself after flooring it!!  But cant wait to drive it again!!!  I want to get it off him now he is inbetween jobs, I can afford it better than he can with good old BFG petrol prices  ::) ::) ::)
